Information for Applicants
What Documents do I need to upload?
New Teachers/Substitutes to the District:
  1. A Newfoundland Teaching Certificate (Uploaded as soon as available from Department of Education)
  2. A current copy of all official University Transcripts
  3. Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Query (current within the last 6 months) completed with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District recorded as the employer to which the information is to be released.

    What's a Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Query?
    Check the following links with the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and/or RNC (Royal Newfoundland Constabulary).

Current Teachers NOT on a permanent contract: (Substitute or Replacement)
  1. A current copy of all official University Transcripts.
  2. A Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Query (Current within the last 6 months) with the Newfoundland and Labrador School District recorded as the employer which the information is to be released. Or a Criminal Offense Declaration (see requirements below).

    A Criminal Offence Declaration is a form (available online in your profile under Quick Links #10) to replace the annual Police Records Check for teachers who have continuous employment with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.

    You use this form if you are currently working with the NLESD in a replacement contract that ends the last day of the previous school year AND you receive a new replacement contract that begins the first day of the new school year.

    If you submit a Criminal Offense Declaration and are subsequently charged or convicted of a criminal offense you are required to re-submit your Criminal Offence Declaration identifying the charges/convictions.

    Teachers in a permanent contract are not required to submit a Police Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Offense Declaration when applying for a position

Current teachers WITH a permanent Newfoundland and Labrador English School District contract:
  1. A current copy of all official University Transcripts.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that the necessary documents are included in their application for employment. Incomplete online profiles may not be considered for positions.

In the case of a non approval, please edit or upload required documents to revise your profile and email the Human Resources Clerk in your region/zone to verify the revision.

Note: Internal positions are only open to current Newfoundland and Labrador English School District employees.
External positions are open to the public.
